Resources

Resources can be removed by pillaging the land. Once removed they are gone forever.

Forest; +25 income, +25 defence. Owning a forest resource will reduce ship and siege costs by 10%.

Farm; +10 income, +10 defence. Owning a Farm resources will reduce fyde, archers, and hound costs by 8%.

Hamlet; +20 income, +15 defence. Owning a Hamlet resources will reduce fyde, archers, and hound costs by 10%.

Village; +30 income, +20 defence. Owning a Village resources will reduce fyde, archers, and hound costs by 10%.

Horses; +25 income, +5 defence. Owning a horse resource will reduce cavalry and knight costs by 10%.

Cave; +10 income, +30 defence.Owning a cave resource will reduce dragon costs by 10%.

Dark woods; +5 income, +25 defence. Owning a dark wood resource will reduce wolves and werewolves costs by 10%.

Mine; +30 income, +30 defence. Owning a mine resource will reduce Housecarls, Axemen, Cavalry and Knights costs by 10%.

Gold Mine; +60 income, +30 defence.


Combat

When attacking across a river, the attacker incurs a 20% attack penalty. All defenders receives 10% plus any resource and fort benefits. Siege engines do damage to forts first. Archers attack second, Archers in a fort get 30% attack bonus. Mounted units fighting against fyde or archers in the open get a 25% attack. Housecarls get a 20% defence bonus against attacking archers.

Your army gets a 10% attack bonus when you combine housecarls+cavalry+archers. If the defender loses a battle the army also suffers another 30% troop lose when retreating. If the Attacker loses this army suffers a 10% troop lose when retreating.

Upkeep

Garrison troops upkeep is minimal. Troops in an army require 6x more upkeep, and this doubles again if the army is over 10,000 men.

Morale

Morale is considered to be a negative effect caused by soldiers to break and flee battle, When armies fight and casualties are taken morale drops. When drops below 35% that unit or army will flee/retreat the battle. Any fleeing army takes extra casualties. Morale will carry over into the next round. Armies can carry Morale. Morale will diminish each turn at a rate of 50% of the total, or 10, whichever is the larger.

Disruption

Disruption is considered to be a negative effect caused by soldiers in battle, it can be fatigue, confusion, or panic. When planes attack lands with armies, or artillery bombard lands with armies, these armies will receive an accumulative level of disruption. Disruption will carry over into the next round. Armies and land garrisons can carry disruption. Disruption will diminish each turn at a rate of 50% of the total, or 5, whichever is the larger. An army with 10% disruption will be weakened by 10% in attack and defence.

Speed up the game.

If you are playing world map it’s advisable to turn OFF the animations and Battle reports. This will speed up the game about 5 times faster. If you are wondering what a nation is doing it is handy to turn on the animations for several turns. You can turn off the animations during the Ai turn but you will need to keep tapping the MENU button until the game recognises your gestures because of the skip process.
